Amid claims that the development of the so-called "All-Glass iPhone," which Apple is preparing as its 20th-anniversary milestone, has been suspended, major IT sources have immediately refuted the rumors based on supply chain data. Confirmation that Apple's next-generation form-factor innovation project is still active has added weight to the 2027 release rumors.

According to industry sources on the 12th (local time), Edison Lee, an analyst at Jefferies, claimed in a report on the 10th that Apple's all-glass iPhone project had been scrapped due to low production yields. However, prominent IT tipsters including Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, "Digital Chat Station," and "Ice Universe" immediately fired back. They revealed that new displays for the device have been spotted in Apple's supply chain, and development is actively underway with a target normal release in 2027 in two models: Pro and Pro Max.

The core technology drawing their attention is the "4-side curved edge" design, which virtually eliminates bezels. By combining cover glass with a flat 2D display and utilizing the optical refraction of glass along with sophisticated visual illusion technology, the structure makes the display appear to extend seamlessly to the edges of the screen.

However, it remains uncertain whether the technology utilizing optical illusions can fully satisfy the completely "all-glass" form originally planned. Concerns over reduced durability due to display refraction and the challenge of stabilizing yields for mass production remain, leaving open the possibility of some design compromises by the final release stage.
