Group Super Junior member and actor Choi Si-won (39) has been receiving fervent support as a 'true patriot' among conservative supporters after expressing his deep concerns about the nation's future through social media.

Choi recently launched a new SNS platform, Threads, and posted, "I used to sometimes, and nowadays more often, think as a citizen about what this country that the next generation will live in should look like." He expressed his willingness to communicate with the public, adding, "I want to continue pondering the future of our country and share the thoughts I've been mulling over." Although there were no explicit political slogans, the post was flooded with welcoming comments from supporters such as "A true patriot," "A living conscience in a left-leaning entertainment industry," and "We welcome a conservative youth." Some responded by sharing pictures of the South Korean flag and political rallies.

This explosive reaction aligns with a series of weighty moves Choi has recently shown. Right after former President Yoon Suk-yeol was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first trial on charges of insurrection as a ringleader, Choi posted the idioms "不義필망" (Bul-ui-pil-mang: that which is unjust will surely perish) and "土崩瓦解" (To-bung-wa-hae: complete collapse like crumbling earth), seemingly sending a message warning against the collapse of organizations and the nation. In response, supporters rallied, cheering, "I support the destruction of communism" and "This is a true patriot." His previous posts using the Spanish word 'enchufados' to target forces colluding with power, as well as paying tribute to the late US far-right figure Charlie Kirk, are also interpreted as demonstrating his unwavering political convictions.

Meanwhile, he is bringing down an uncompromising legal hammer on blind criticism and malicious comments arising from his vocal stances regarding the nation. Declaring, "Silence ends here. I will no longer condone malice," Choi secured the real identities of 10 malicious posters hiding behind overseas platforms through the US Northern District Court of California granting a discovery motion. Complaining of severe defamation and psychological distress, he is continuing his resolute response by filing damages lawsuits against them.
